Maharashtrians unite and tell other Indians your achivements

Maharashtrians in the Indian union have been down trodden . This is my personal experience.

When I lived in other states When I see them they (people /orignal inhabitants in those states) are so backward . The Other states have far lower levels in literacy Far lower levels in human developement. Then how do immigrants from these states claim that they have developed Maharshtra?
What right do they have?
When I go to punjab UP or Bihar or AP or Gujarat do I get Kanda Pohe or Zunka Bhakar, Kothimbir vadees Alu wadi?
All I get is that shitty Paneer and Chana Chat which has been medically proved to be harmfull to the heart. When I go South do I get any Maharashtrian dishes barring a few cities?On the contrary you get your shitty Idlys dosas vada sambaars at every nook and corner of Maharashtra.

When Bacchi Karkaria said in the Times of India that why dont you see the achievements by Others in setting up acedemics Let me tell you Mrs Karkaria a bacchi not yet matured into a woman

No outside community did any good for maharastrians here
They have set up colleges no doubt but not without giving preferences to South Indian minority or Gujarati Minorty or Sindhi / Punjabi Minority what have you done for locals. Infact you should have been put behind for that remark.

No Kumari Karkaria certainly not . You dont realise what it is if a driver does not know where is your destination however prominent it may be. Taxi drivers not taking bath for 10 days together. driving age old premier cabs which are retrofit with CNG devices with little or no cheking maintainence god alone knows when they blow up . I hope you dont get seriously injured in them

Maharashtrians, For your benefit these are the many good fact about you which are hidden under your shyness (which has become the object of redicule).

Your state is the largest producer of onions , grapes and even oranges, mangoes. Industrial output of Maharashtra is larger than Gujarat. It creatres more employment for others than others can create for Maharastrians.
Maharashtra once had maximum number of engineering seats in the country and second / third largest number medical seats which we held top position till 3 years back. following which we were overtaken by Karnataka and equalled by Andhra.
Times of India quoted that Maharashtra was starved off icons.

Maharastra has produced a wide network of people who boast less.To name a few

Lata Mangeshkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar , Ajit Wadekar, Eknath Solkar in the previous generation. ( Many more were there of course)

My own decipline statistics and Economics- Pandurang Sukhatme, VG Paanse all over the world people still refer to their sampling theories.

Bhanumati Annasaheb Rajopadhye "Bhanu Athaiya" has won oscar for best costume no otherperson has been able to do it so far .

Be proud of the fact that even within Konkan region that literacy rate is 95% highest in country after Kerela and Maharashtra overall has a leteracy rate of close to 87% which is 3rd after Goa. Much more than any state across North India.

You have a women / men ratio of 930 women per thousand males. You have the works of Social reformers.
It was Maharashtrians who first gave ideas about social reforms in the western region of country - Like Jyotibha Phule,Tilak, Dhondo Keshav Karve, His Son Raghunath crying hoarse on ideas of contraceptives and birth control? At that time Nehru rediculed him saying that it was not a priority . today thanks to a UP leader named Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru whose ignorance we have states with bludgeoning population, low human social development, poor gender ratio thanks to ancient beliefs.

My experience with IITans IIMs and highly educated from North Indian men in my own work places and through what I practically have seen with my own eyes tells me quite a lot of bad points which out number their good points.

North Indian men shamelessly and I dare say shamelessly accept and demand dowry from their Father in laws . I had an idiot from IIM Kozhikode in my office having a decent enough pay packet etc etc. After his marriage he had a car ( out of dowry) and all the other consumer durables were paid by his father in law.
I attended another Punjabi wedding.Of the many that I have attended .
The bride/ girl has to accompany the grandmother to a temple or some ritual like that. A grand child simply sits on granny's lap . The poor girls father has to throw notes of Rs 2000 to ge the child off the grand mothers lap. In addition to throwing money on the so called barateees who dance drunk and obstruct traffic which includes ambulances carrying the sick to hospitals. You call this forward culture?

A bride groom in a Punjab wedding is greeted with a garland of currency notes instead of flowers.
In the gifts section instead of gifts kept with some good intention like handicrafts or idols or emotional attachment objects, things like TVs refrigerators even cars are kept . All funded by the father of the bride.
By the way this is no rural wedding . this was an urban wedding in Delhi.
Educated households , Well earning Grooms who can afford to buy their own TV sets and Refrigerators and even cars but have taken dowry to buy those. In the food of course the varieties like a separate drinks counter as well .

My question to North Indians is that what is the purpose of the marriage. Is the groom marrying the bride or the tangible assets provided by the father in law?
In my office in Mumbai I hear North Indians making jibes that " your weddings in Maharashtra do not seem like weddings at all. You dont have drinks , dowry etc".

What right have you North Indians got to comment on the way a Maharashtrian wants to have his /her wedding? We are not show offs and hypocrites like you . That is why our gender ratio is 933/1000 compared to 600-750 women / 1000 males in rest of North India.The same you will not travel to office in a BEST bus or train but travel alone in an air conditioned car to show it off and state reasons of congestions in public transport in Mumbai. The same you openly actively flock bars and pubs where people smoke and dance in loud music. That time congestion is irrelevant to you?
